Hocking Hills Cabins and Cottages

Hocking Hills Programs
From guided night hikes through the dim recesses of Ash Cave in the spring and Bigfoot Festivals in Logan during the summer. There are snow-covered explorations for Ohio's elusive owls in the winter from Hocking College and haunted hikes with ghost stories at Moonville Tunnel. The Hocking Hills Region offers visitors fun things to do all year long!

Clear Creek MetroPark: September 9 Winnowing Rock Hike 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Learn about the history of Clear Creek on a 5-mile backcountry hike to Winnowing Rock. Terrain at Clear Creek is steep and uneven. Be prepared for elevation gain and a steady up-hill climb. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water. Meet at the Park Office: 185 Clear Creek Road, Lancaster.

Lake Hope State Park: Saturday, September 23 Autumnal Equinox Hike 9:00am-11:30am
Enjoy the last hours of summer as we stroll through the forest in search of signs of the new season. This will be a 3-mile hike of intermediate difficulty on Peninsula Trail. Meet at the Hope Furnace. Close-toed, waterproof shoes are recommended.

Moonville Tunnel Hike: Saturday, September 9 Dark of Night Moonville Hike with BackRoads Books by 21 Crows (Zaleski, Ohio) Time: 7:30 p.m.
Take a hike with Jannette Quackenbush from Moonville to Ingham Station/Bear Hollow with ghost stories and legends of Moonville and ghost hunt in Moonville Tunnel. Hikers are limited and must sign up for the hike at: loneghostwriter@gmail.com. Complete the Hike Waiver form and bring it to the hike.
At Old Man's Cave and accessible from the Old Man's Cave parking area.
Hocking Hills park systems are open year-round from dawn to dusk. Hikers must stay on the one-way designated trail system. Well-behaved, non-aggressive dogs are allowed in most areas, but all must be on a 6-foot leash. (Dogs are not permitted at Nature Preserves.)
There are seven major hiking areas in Hocking Hills State Park - All are one-way trail systems.
Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow, Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, and Whispering Cave Trail. These park areas offer a unique experience for those who walk its paths no matter what season (the park is open year-round from dawn to dusk)—located on the southern edge of Hocking County. Hiking trails in the Hocking Hills include those at Wayne National Forest, Clear Creek Metro Parks, Lake Hope State Park, Vinton County Park District's Moonville Tunnel, and Hocking College's Robbins Crossing (with park programs) and the Athens Hock-Hocking Adena Rail Trail bikeway.
