Moonville Rail Trail
New Marshfield, OH 45766
An engineer killed in a train crash near the tunnel in the 1880s haunts Moonville Tunnel. Visitors have captured the image of a ghostly man with a top hat in pictures taken there. The town bully, long dead, tosses pebbles from above at hikers entering the tunnel, and the scent of lavender wafts through the air at the far end where an elderly woman was hit and killed by a train in the 1800s.
